Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy applies to the DepthPlayer application for Meta Quest ("the app"), developed by MYDTX ("we", "us"). It explains what data the app processes, how that data is used, and how you can reach us with any questions or requests.

1. Summary

DepthPlayer does not collect or store any personal data on our servers, and no account with us is required. All media processing — including the real-time 2D-to-3D conversion — happens entirely on your device. Optionally, you may connect your own cloud drive (Google Drive or Microsoft OneDrive); in that case the app accesses only the files you choose, directly from the provider, as described below.

2. Data the app processes (and where it stays)

The app processes the following data locally on your headset only:

• Your media files. With your permission, the app reads video and photo files stored on your device or on attached USB storage so that you can browse and play them. Files are accessed only when you choose to open them, and they are never modified, copied, or uploaded.
• Network media sources (optional). If you add your own media server (SMB, WebDAV, or DLNA) in the app, it connects directly to the server address you enter in order to stream your media. The connection details you enter (server address, and optional username/password) are stored only on your device and are never sent to us.
• Cloud drives (optional). If you connect Google Drive or Microsoft OneDrive, the app asks the provider for read-only access so that you can browse and play your files. OAuth access and refresh tokens are stored only on your device, in encrypted app storage. File listings and video streams are requested directly from the provider; they are never routed through, stored on, or visible to our servers. Disconnecting the account in the app deletes the tokens from your device.
• Playback history and settings. Stored locally on your device to provide features such as resuming playback and remembering your preferences. You can clear this data at any time inside the app.
• Headset motion data. Standard headset tracking (head orientation) is processed in real time to render the VR view. It is never recorded or transmitted.

3. How the data is used

All of the above is used exclusively to provide the app's features on your device: playing the media you select, applying real-time 2D-to-3D conversion, remembering your preferences, and connecting to the media sources you configure. Data is used only for these purposes and only on your headset.

4. What we do not collect

We do not collect, and do not store on any server: names, email addresses, or account information; device identifiers; location data; analytics or usage statistics; advertising identifiers; or the content, names, or viewing history of your files. The app contains no advertising or analytics SDKs and does not transmit your data to us. When you connect a cloud drive, data is exchanged directly between your headset and that provider, under your own account and their terms. The only account details the app keeps are the email address and display name returned by the cloud provider you connected; they are stored on your device only, to label the account, and are never sent to us.

5. Data sharing

We do not share, sell, rent, or transfer user data to third parties, because we do not collect any.

6. Data retention and deletion

Because we do not collect or store personal data on any server, there is no server-side data held by us to delete. Data kept locally by the app (settings, playback history) can be deleted at any time:

• Inside the app: open Settings and use Clear History / Clear Cache; or
• By uninstalling the app, which removes all locally stored data.
• By disconnecting a cloud drive account in the app, which deletes its stored OAuth tokens from your device (access can also be revoked in your Google or Microsoft account settings).

If you believe we hold any of your data, or you wish to make a data deletion request, contact us at 1351369437@qq.com and we will respond within 30 days. Requests for data deletion are always free of charge.

7. Children's privacy

The app does not knowingly collect any personal information from anyone, including children.

8. Third-party services

The app does not integrate any third-party analytics, advertising, or tracking services. Optional network media sources (SMB / WebDAV / DLNA) are servers that you own and configure yourself; any data you choose to place on those servers is governed by your own arrangements with them.

Google Drive. If you choose to connect Google Drive, the app uses the Google Drive API with the drive.readonly scope. The app reads the file names, folder names and IDs, sizes and MIME types needed to display your library, and reads the content of a file only when you choose to open it. It does not access Gmail, Contacts, Calendar, or any other Google service. DepthPlayer's use and transfer to any other app of information received from Google APIs will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. Google user data is used only to let you browse and play the files you select in the app; it is not sold, is not used for advertising, is not used to train machine-learning models, and is not shared with third parties. No copy of your file content is kept by us; playback buffers are temporary and cleared when playback ends. You can review or revoke the app's access at any time at myaccount.google.com/permissions. Disconnecting the account in the app also deletes the stored tokens from your device.

Microsoft OneDrive. If you choose to connect OneDrive, the app uses Microsoft Graph with the Files.Read scope to list and stream the files you select. Access can be reviewed or revoked at account.live.com/consent/Manage. Disconnecting the account in the app also deletes the stored tokens from your device.

9. Changes to this policy

If we change this policy, we will post the updated version on this page with a revised "Last updated" date.
